CENTCOM area: Sensor repeatedly tries to track fast contrast on 20 October 2020
On 20 October 2020 an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in the U.S. Central Command area recorded nearly five minutes of video in which an area of contrast transits the field of view at least eight times within one to two seconds each while the sensor changes modes and tries to track it.
Background
Record DOW-UAP-PR080 is a video with the uploader-defined title '20 October 2020 [call sign redacted] [call sign redacted] Observes UAP', uploaded to a classified network in October 2020 (VIRIN 201020-D-D0360-1879). AARO assesses the footage as likely derived from a sensor aboard a U.S. military platform; the material was found on a classified network in response to a March 2026 congressional request and lacks a substantiated chain of custody. The official video description is provided for information only and contains no judgement on the validity, nature or significance of the event. Per the official description (duration 00:04:54), an area of contrast enters from the top right at 01:17β01:21 and the sensor pans toward it and away; between 02:45 and 04:23 an area of contrast transits the field of view in one- to two-second passes at 02:45, 03:12, 03:20, 03:35, 03:40, 04:02 and 04:22, mostly across the bottom right quarter or from top right to bottom left, after which the sensor changes modes and attempts to track it. Callsigns, platform and location are undisclosed. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-PR080) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
