Strait of Hormuz: USAF ISR aircraft reports one UAP at 18:29 UTC
During a 21-hour NAVCENT support sortie from Kuwait over the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman, a U.S. Air Force ISR aircraft observed one UAP at 18:29 UTC on 2 October 2020, shortly before being cleared to return to base.
Background
The mission report (MISREP 4871281, declassified by the USCENTCOM Chief of Staff on 16 March 2026) describes a single Air Force ISR aircraft that took off from Ali Al Salem, Kuwait, at 22:49 UTC on 1 October 2020, was on station from 01:17 to 18:35 UTC on 2 October characterising Iranian naval vessels and activity outside ports, and landed at 19:53 UTC. The narrative states 'AT 1829Z ... OBSERVED 1X UAP, SEE OBSERVATION LINE 1' and that the aircraft was cleared to return to base at 18:35 UTC; the observation line itself is not legible in the released text. The report also lists five guard calls from a redacted air defence authority during the day, each answered with a standard response and no impact to the mission, and notes that heavy haze precluded imagery analysis. Aircraft type, callsign, tail number and coordinates are redacted; the UAP is not described. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-D63) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
