CENTCOM area: infrared video uploaded as 'Spherical UAP over AFG', November 2020
On 23 November 2020, according to the uploader-defined title, an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform over Afghanistan recorded an area of contrast described by the uploader as a spherical UAP moving in and out of clouds; the 47-second clip was digitally altered before upload.

AARO's official description states that this 47-second video, uploader-titled 'Spherical UAP over AFG in and out of clouds 23 Nov 2020', is likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility in November 2020; a user uploaded it to a classified network in June 2024, and AARO notes that many of these materials lack a substantiated chain of custody. The media was digitally altered prior to upload and is presented as received: after a title card 'zoomed in', an area of contrast becomes visible near the top left at 00:03–00:10, transiting left to right before losing distinctiveness against the background; a card announces a sharpened, zoomed, motion-tracked, contrast-enhanced replay at 60 percent speed (00:12–00:28); after a card 'original video', at 00:30–00:47 an area of contrast appears near the top centre, transits down to the left, then moves right and loses distinctiveness. The date and the location Afghanistan come from the uploader-defined title, the position is undisclosed, and AARO states that the description reflects no analytical judgment about the event's validity, nature or significance. The video was released following a 6 March 2026 request by eight members of the House of Representatives for 51 potentially UAP-related records.
