Eastern United States: Navy pilot reports small reflective object on constant course
In 2020, a U.S. Navy pilot of O-4 rank reported in a Range Fouler debrief a small, moving object observed in daylight over the eastern United States that continued in a constant direction; its shape was indiscernible but its bottom was reflective.
Background
The record is a two-page Range Fouler Debrief Form, the Navy form for intrusions into controlled airspace, filled in by a pilot of O-4 rank (name, squadron, side number and bureau number withheld or blank). The date, time, working area, position and altitude fields are blank or withheld in the released text; the sighting is marked 'Day', the contact was moving, and the boxes 'Metallic' and 'Reflective' are checked. The narrative reads: 'apparent object also captured with [withheld]. Appeared quite small. Speed appeared to be [withheld] and continued in constant direction. Shape indiscernible but the bottom was reflective.' The Department of the Navy released the form in part on May 19, 2026 under the FY2024 NDAA with exemptions under E.O. 13526 sections 1.4(a) and 1.4(e); the year and region come from the DoW title. The Department of War pairs this debrief with record DOW-UAP-PR106, 11 seconds of video from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2020 that U.S. Northern Command submitted to AARO as an unresolved UAP report; the release gives no description of the footage. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record codes DOW-UAP-D089 and DOW-UAP-PR106) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
