Middle East: CENTCOM infrared sensor pans to track contrast for 94 seconds
In 2020 an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in the U.S. Central Command area recorded one minute and 34 seconds of an area of contrast that entered from the left and was tracked while the sensor panned left to right; CENTCOM submitted the footage to AARO without any description.
Background
According to the official description, the United States Central Command submitted a report consisting of 1 minute 34 seconds of infrared video from a U.S. military platform in 2020; the reporter provided no oral or written description of the observation. The video description notes that at 00:01 an area of contrast enters the field of view from the bottom third of the left side and that from 00:02 to 01:34 the sensor pans from left to right, keeping the contrast generally centred. Platform, sensor, date and location are not disclosed; the WAR.gov index places the case in the Arabian Gulf. AARO lists the report as unresolved and states that the description is not an analytical judgment. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-PR41) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
