Europe: Military IR sensor tracks object the uploader called an erratic spherical UAP

In August 2022, an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in the U.S. European Command area tracked an area of contrast for almost four minutes; the uploader described the object as a spherical UAP with erratic movement, but AARO notes that digital alterations significantly influence its apparent behaviour.

Background

The 3-minute-57-second video was uploaded to a classified network in June 2024 with the uploader-defined title 'Spherical UAP Erratic movement [callsign] (Mission) 2022'; AARO assesses it as likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating in the U.S. European Command area of responsibility in August 2022 and states that the media was digitally altered before upload and is presented as received. According to the official video description the sensor pans to track an area of contrast near the centre of the frame (00:00–00:45), with digital alterations that 'significantly influence the area of contrast's apparent performance characteristics'; the video then appears to cut and refocuses on an area of contrast that intermittently passes in and out of frame as the sensor tracks it (00:46–03:57). The platform, the exact location, the day and the observers are not disclosed. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-PR054) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
