Kyiv, Ukraine: Two meteor camera stations record fast half-moon-shaped object at 700 miles
At 11:58 a.m. on 17 October 2022, meteor camera stations in Kyiv and Vinarivka, Ukraine, recorded a half-moon-shaped object moving at 174,480 mph at an altitude of 700 miles, with an estimated length of 1.84 miles.
Background
At 11:58 a.m. on 17 October 2022, two meteor camera stations in Kyiv and Vinarivka, Ukraine, recorded a half-moon-shaped object moving at 174,480 mph at an altitude of 700 miles. Colorimetry showed that the object had an albedo lower than that of the Moon. Assuming the object shone by reflected sunlight, its size was estimated at 1.84 miles in length. The observation was published by Boris Zhilyaev, Vladimir Petukhov and Sergey Pokhvala in their arXiv paper "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena: Characterization of Dark UAPs" in 2025. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
