NORTHCOM area: Infrared reticle locks onto and loses contrast ('F/A-18 FLIR UAP')
In 2022 an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in the U.S. Northern Command area tracked an area of contrast for 29 seconds; a reticle locked onto it at the 14-second mark and lost the track at 27 seconds, in a clip the uploader titled 'F/A-18 FLIR UAP'.
Background
AARO's official description states that this 29-second video, uploader-titled 'F/A-18 FLIR UAP', is likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating within the U.S. Northern Command area of responsibility in 2022; a user uploaded it to a classified network in July 2023, and AARO notes that many of these materials lack a substantiated chain of custody. Per the description, a sensor pans to track an area of contrast, at the 14-second mark a reticle surrounds the area of contrast, and at the 27-second mark the reticle loses its track. The platform type F/A-18 appears only in the uploader-defined title and is not confirmed by AARO; the exact date and location are undisclosed, and AARO states that the description reflects no analytical judgment about the event's validity, nature or significance. The video was released following a 6 March 2026 request by eight members of the House of Representatives for 51 potentially UAP-related records. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-PR069) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
