In 2023, an unnamed military platform in the US Africa Command area of responsibility takes a 4-minute, 58-second infrared video of an apparent UAP. The footage shows an apparent heat signature with characteristics consistent with those of a physical object. However, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) cannot determine whether the observed signature originates from a physical source, either as a thermal emission or a thermal reflection, or from another source such as a heat differential in the environment or a sensor display error. AARO lists the case as insufficient information and publishes the video as "PR003, Unresolved UAP Report, Africa 2023" on the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service on 7 August 2025.
