Gulf of Oman: Infrared sensor records teardrop-shaped UAP with hanging bar

In June 2024 an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform near the United Arab Emirates recorded 21 seconds of an object resembling an inverted teardrop with a vertical bar or pole hanging below it; the observer noted in mission report DOW-UAP-D8 that it might instead be a reflection from an object in the water, and the case was submitted to AARO as unresolved.

Background

According to the official description, the United States Northern Command submitted a report consisting of 21 seconds of infrared video from a U.S. military platform in 2024. An accompanying mission report, DOW-UAP-D8, described the UAP as an object with a vertical pole or bar attached to its bottom, and the observer also reported that the UAP might instead be a reflection from an object in the water. The video description states that from 00:00 to 00:21 an area of contrast visually resembling an inverted teardrop with a vertically linear trailing mass suspended below remains generally within the centre of the field of view. The record title places the case in the United Arab Emirates in June 2024 and the WAR.gov index names the Gulf of Oman; the day, platform and exact position are not given in the video record. AARO lists the report as unresolved and stresses that the description is not an analytical judgment. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-PR29) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
