Gulf of Aden: USAF ISR crew tracks UAP on straight flight path
At 05:17 UTC on July 14, 2024, the crew of a U.S. Air Force ISR aircraft of the 124th Attack Squadron conducting target development for NAVCENT over the Gulf of Aden observed one UAP that kept a straight flight path at constant altitude and was faster than the aircraft; the crew followed it until it was too far away.
Background
The mission report (MISREP 10194673, 124th Attack Squadron, 132nd Wing, 609th CAOC) covers a flight of a platform whose type, tail number and callsign are redacted; it arrived on station at 03:00Z on July 14, 2024 and from 03:34Z conducted target development for NAVCENT in the vicinity of grid 38P MT. At 05:17Z the crew observed one UAP near grid 38P MT (digits redacted), logged as a 'UAP Incident' with a 'straight flight path at same altitude'; its response to the observer was unknown, the observer assessed it as benign, no sensor interrogation and no engagement took place, and there were no effects on persons or equipment. The last estimated position was in grid 38P MT with a low estimated altitude and a northwesterly trajectory; the crew 'followed the UAP till the distance became too far to follow' and noted that its speed 'was faster than the [platform's] flying speed'. The description field and the event description are redacted (1.4a), the observer was a technical sergeant, and the primary sensor was full-motion video. USCENTCOM recommended release on June 2, 2025 (MDR 25-0072); the report is classified SECRET//REL TO USA, FVEY. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code DOW-UAP-D75) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
