United States: Air ambulance helicopter evades object that passes just below its rotor
At night in February 2025, an air ambulance helicopter crew at an unnamed location reported to the Aviation Safety Reporting System a near miss with an unidentified flying object that passed less than 10 feet from the aircraft, just below the main rotor.
Background
At night, the crew of an air ambulance helicopter at an unnamed location had a near miss with an "Unidentified Flying Object," according to an Aviation Safety Reporting System entry. One crew member saw an object directly in front of the windscreen and called to the pilot to take evasive action. The pilot banked hard to the left, and another crew member saw the object pass to the right of the fuselage and just below the main rotor disc, an estimated less than 10 feet from the aircraft. Because the pilot and medical team were operating with night vision goggles, they could not positively identify the object. The Debrief reported the entry in May 2025 in an article on surging drone incursions. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
