Western United States: Federal agent films two slow black objects with thermal optic

On a redacted day in 2026, around 16:04 local time, a U.S. government special agent in the western United States was alerted to a radio-frequency detection and, looking through a thermal optical device toward a bearing of 58 degrees, observed two slow-moving black objects for about five to ten minutes and photographed and filmed them.

Background

The FBI interview record (FD-302) documents the account of a government special agent with some private-pilot experience but no aviation expertise. At approximately 16:04 local time he was alerted to a radio-frequency detection at about 10,000 feet MSL lasting five to ten seconds with an unknown bearing; a follow-up request asked him to observe toward a bearing of 58 degrees. Within minutes he used a thermal optical device and saw a black, slowly moving object above the mountain line, then a second object to its right; both appeared 'black hot', moved together at the same speed toward the southeast (about 58 to 62 degrees) and were lost from view when they travelled out of range. Total observation time was about five to ten minutes; the agent could not estimate altitude or speed and was the only person at his position to see the objects. He took photographs and videos with the optic, which were provided to the interviewing special agent. Day, month, exact location, names and several details are redacted. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record code FBI-UAP-D032) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
