Western United States: Night-optics observer reports multiple red lights over five hours
On a day in 2026 (date redacted), a witness interviewed by the FBI reported that he and a companion observed, between about 8 PM and 1 AM in the western United States, several dull-red, dash-shaped lights moving along a mountain ridgeline and later hovering close to their vehicle, seen with the naked eye and through night optical devices.
Background
According to an FBI FD-302 interview record, the witness and a companion left a facility at about 7:45 PM on a day in 2026 (date redacted) and drove into the central/northern part of a redacted area in the western United States in rainy weather with significant cloud cover. Between about 8:00 and 8:30 PM they stopped to watch two dull-red, dash-shaped lights moving along a mountain ridgeline to the west; through night optical devices the lights appeared orb-like with the typical halo, they disappeared after roughly 20 minutes, and a similar light then stood directly overhead for about 10 minutes. Between 10 and 11 PM another light appeared about 600 m to the east at an estimated 500 ft, approached to about 400 m and stopped, a second light joined it about 6 ft above the ground, and a glow descended into a dry wash about 100 m behind the vehicle; when the witnesses repositioned, all lights were gone. The witness noted no sound, exhaust or tail, could not acquire the lights with thermal optics, reported no physiological effects, and found that his mechanical watch, accurate at 10 PM, ran about 25 minutes fast at around 1 AM. A second FD-302 (record code FBI-UAP-D040) records a telephone interview with the companion, who recalled setting out at about 21:00, a red light at the crest of the mountain range to the west at about 22:00 that began moving east, and some 6 to 10 further red lights appearing directly overhead about 15 minutes later, syncing up and moving off east-southeast, one of them descending rapidly by an estimated 1,000 feet; the times in the second account differ from the first. The interview dates, the witnesses' names and employers and the exact location are redacted. The details are taken from the records released by the U.S. Department of War (record codes FBI-UAP-D037 and FBI-UAP-D040) and do not represent an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
