341st Strategic Missile Wing

The 341st Strategic Missile Wing was the central strategic missile formation at Malmstrom Air Force Base, and its Unit History material forms the official core of the 1967 Malmstrom case. In the declassified record, Echo Flight is documented as a technical failure in the Minuteman system; at the same time, the official account states that UFO rumors around the failure were disproven. For From Beyond Space, the 341st SMW is therefore not an incidental organization name but the institutional frame of the key source: it connects missile operations, military documentation, FOIA release, and later UFO/nuclear-weapons research.
