Honolulu Police Department

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD), founded in 1932, is a local law enforcement agency of the City and County of Honolulu in the United States (Hawaii). Primarily focused on crime prevention, investigation, and public safety, HPD has incidentally intersected with UAP/UFO matters. In 2012, HPD received multiple 911 calls about a large bright blue object crashing silently into the ocean near Nanakuli, Oahu, prompting them to report it to the FAA as a possible downed aircraft, though no such incident was confirmed. HPD dispatchers have shared personal encounters with unexplained paranormal phenomena, including apparitions of a ghostly figure known as 'Sweetie' and a footless woman in period clothing.
