Background UAPx is a US non-profit research group founded in 2021 that studies UAP using the methods of physics. Its core includes physicists Kevin Knuth, Matthew Szydagis and Cecilia Levy of the University at Albany.
Approach On a first field expedition in 2021 off Catalina Island, California, the team gathered calibrated sensor data: about one hour of triggered visible and night-vision video, over 600 hours of infrared video and 55 hours of radiation measurements. The results were published peer-reviewed in 2025 in Progress in Aerospace Sciences. Its academic successor runs as "UAlbany Project X".
