Armando Valdes

Armando Valdes, also known as Corporal Armando Valdés Garrido, was a Chilean army corporal who led a military patrol involved in a famous UFO encounter on April 25, 1977, near Pampa Lluscuma, Chile. While investigating two bright violet lights descending from the sky, he vanished for 15 minutes, reappearing with five days' beard growth, in a trance, and uttering the words 'You will never know who we are or where we come from. But we will return.' The incident, witnessed by six soldiers, drew media attention and military investigations, with President Pinochet prohibiting further interviews. Valdes later revisited the site in 2002 for research and reported a second sighting in 1980.
