David Grusch

David Grusch is a retired U.S. Air Force officer and former intelligence official who served at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office. He became a central figure in the UAP debate in 2023 after filing whistleblower complaints and testifying before the U.S. House Oversight Committee. Grusch stated that he had interviewed officials who claimed knowledge of hidden UAP crash-retrieval and reverse-engineering programs, including material he described as non-human in origin.

From a UAP journalism and historical perspective, Grusch matters because his statements triggered a new phase of institutional response: congressional hearings, FOIA releases, inspector-general material, whistleblower-protection debates, and repeated requests for answers from the Pentagon, AARO, and other agencies. Even where government bodies have not confirmed his central allegations, his public role changed the frame of the issue: individual insider claims became a political and documentary process that pushed officials toward more specific answers, records releases, and public accountability.
