Short overview

An eight-page U.S. Air Force Mission Report (MISREP) on a reconnaissance sortie flown on October 28–29, 2025, under Operation INHERENT RESOLVE in the U.S. Central Command area, originally classified SECRET//NOFORN and declassified on June 8, 2026. It records a UAP observation on the aircraft’s video feed and accompanies the infrared footage DOW-UAP-PR133.

Why this is interesting

The form shows how a UAP sighting enters routine military reporting: a dedicated “UAP” block with some fifty fields, most of them left blank or marked “Estimated.” According to it, an aircraft of the 11 ATKS (mission wing: 432 AEW), flying at about 22,500 feet on a mission to counter smuggling and ISIS, observed a UAP on the feed from 01:41 to 01:50 Zulu on October 29, 2025; a party whose designation is redacted stated it looked like a “white round orbit,” speeds of up to 500 mph were noted, the physical state is entered as “Solid,” effects on persons as “NO,” and then the object was lost. Almost everything that would allow an assessment is redacted under (b)(1)(B): aircraft type, call sign, location, sensor, the tracking duration and even the field “Observer Assessment of UAP.” The report itself closes by saying that no additional information can be provided. As the official description stresses, the wording reflects the reporter’s impression at the time, not a finding about the object.

Selected passages

  • “OBSERVED A UAP ON FEED WHILE ON TGT, (b) (1) (B) STATED IT LOOKED LIKE A WHITE ROUND ORBIT”
  • “UAP Maneuverability Observations: FAST MOVING SPEEDS UP TO 500MPH”
  • “THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED AT THIS TIME.”

Background

This document is a Mission Report (MISREP), a standardized reporting form the U.S. military uses to record the circumstances surrounding its operations. U.S. military services often use MISREPs to report unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). The GENTEXT, or “general text” section of these reports often contains important qualitative, contextual information, distinguishing it from the more quantitative, or numerical, data found elsewhere in the report. This mission report accompanies video footage derived from an infrared system aboard a U.S. military platform in 2025 (DOW-UAP-PR133). A U.S. military operator reported observing UAP, describing it as “look[ing] like a white round orbit… moving as fast as 500 miles per hour.” All descriptive and estimative language contained in this report reflects the reporter’s subjective interpretation at the time of the event. Such characterizations should not be interpreted as a conclusive indication of the presence or absence of any intrinsic object features or performance characteristics.
