Short overview

An FBI form FD-302 from 2026 reproduces verbatim a written statement, co-signed by two special agents, titled “Unidentified Aerial Object Observation Report”, about a dark triangular object they saw one evening from an observation post.

Why this is interesting

According to the statement, a position called Observation Post 6 called out a detection of a “thermally elevated aerial object” to the west, whereupon the agents ran from the eastern to the western side of their post. They describe a nonreflective black triangle “most resembling a delta wing drone”, with an estimated wingspan of nine to fifteen feet, a depth of six to nine feet and a thickness of one to two feet. One agent followed it through a handheld thermal device, which showed a uniformly warmer signature with no visible exhaust, while the other tracked it with the naked eye. The object climbed vertically over a ridge line, switched to fast horizontal flight towards the observers and descended to the southeast; visual contact was lost at about 1.5 miles, the whole sighting lasted about three seconds, and no sound was heard. The paired AARO memorandum DOW-UAP-D176 records a debrief on what the official pairing presents as the same event and differs from this statement in duration, wingspan and the hover phase.

Selected passages

  • “We estimated the object's wingspan at approximately nine to fifteen feet, its depth at six to nine feet, and its thickness at one to two feet.”
  • “I viewed the object through a handheld thermal device and noted it appeared hotter than ambient temperature with a completely consistent thermal signature”

Background

This document is an FBI FD-302, a form the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) uses to record interviews. This FD-302 records a 2026 interview with two Federal Special Agents, in which the interviewees describe an incident reported as involving unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) at a national security site in 2026.
