Background

On March 25, 2022, the Defense Intelligence Agency answered FOIA-00159-2018 and released 37 redacted Defense Intelligence Reference Documents, with an official inventory listing 1,473 responsive pages. The documents had been produced under the AAWSAP contract. Of the 38 known titles, the SECRET//NOFORN version of “State of the Art and Evolution of High Energy Laser Weapons” remained unavailable; the unclassified version was released.
