Thomas P. Stafford (1930-2024) was a U.S. Air Force officer, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. He flew Gemini 6A, Gemini 9A, Apollo 10, and the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, and was one of the Apollo astronauts who flew to the Moon. In the astronaut/UAP story he mainly serves as a context figure around Gordon Cooper’s public UFO statements; no independent UAP claim should be attributed to him without a separate source.
